Why Families Choose Us
What Makes Sahabat Different
Families across Penang trust Sahabat because we take the time to understand each household before any arrangement begins.
Family-First Approach
Every arrangement starts with a family conversation. We shape our work around your loved one's existing routines rather than replacing them.
Flexible Scheduling
Sessions fit around school runs, work commitments, and family gatherings. You choose which days work — we arrange around that.
Regular Family Updates
End-of-session notes and check-in messages keep you connected. You always know how the day went, even when you're not there.
Careful Companion Matching
We take care to introduce companions who share similar backgrounds, language comfort, and personal interests with your loved one.
Local to Penang
Based in George Town, we understand the pace, languages, and family values of Penang households. This isn't a generic service imported from elsewhere.
Clear, Open Communication
No fine print, no surprises. Arrangements are agreed before they begin, and any adjustments are discussed openly with the family.

Common Questions
Questions Families Usually Ask First
What exactly does a Sahabat companion do during a visit?
A companion spends time with your older relative in a natural, unhurried way — sharing a meal, doing a light activity together, having a conversation, or simply sitting nearby. The focus is on meaningful company and a calm household atmosphere. Each visit is guided by an activity outline we prepare with the family beforehand.
How many visits per week can we arrange?
This is entirely up to your family. Most families start with two or three sessions a week and adjust as they see how the arrangement settles in. We don't set minimum visit counts — the schedule should fit your household, not the other way around.
Do you cover areas outside of George Town?
Our main service area is Pulau Pinang, with George Town as our base. We can accommodate families in nearby areas within the island — please contact us to discuss your location and we'll let you know straightforwardly whether a visit is workable.
Can the Home Comfort Setup assessment be done remotely?
Yes. For families outside Penang or those who prefer a remote approach, we conduct the assessment via a video call and ask you to share photos or a short walk-through of the rooms. The written layout plan and item list we produce are identical to those from an on-site visit.
Will the same companion visit each time?
We aim for continuity, because familiarity matters. We introduce a companion we believe will be a good fit, and once a comfortable routine is established, the same person visits regularly. If circumstances change, we speak with the family before making any adjustment.
What languages do your companions speak?
Our companions communicate in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin, with some also comfortable in Hokkien and Cantonese. We do our best to match a companion to your loved one's preferred language — comfortable conversation is one of the things we take seriously.
How do I get started?
Simply reach out by phone, email, or the contact form on this page. We'll have a brief conversation to understand your situation and suggest which arrangement might suit you best. There's no obligation — just a quiet, open discussion.
