What Families Have Shared With Us

These reviews are from families who have used one or more of our services. We share them as they were written — not polished for effect.

"My mother spent most of her days alone after I returned to work full-time. I was worried she'd just sit in front of the television. The companion Sahabat introduced has been visiting twice a week for three months now, and my mother actually looks forward to the visits. She mentioned the companion by name in a conversation last week, which surprised me — she doesn't usually warm up to strangers that quickly."

"We had a helper who had worked with us for years, but coordinating her schedule with what Ibu needed each day had become quite complicated. Sahabat took over that coordination and produced a task list that finally made the household run calmly. The fortnightly check-in call is genuinely useful — it's not just a tick-box exercise. My only wish is that the service covered weekends too, but I understand why it doesn't."

"My father had a fall last year and we realised the house wasn't arranged with him in mind at all. Selvam came to do the assessment and spent almost two hours going through every room methodically. The written plan we received afterwards was practical and specific — not vague suggestions. We've made about two-thirds of the changes so far and the difference in how Dad moves around the house is noticeable."

"What struck me was how carefully Amalina listened during the first conversation. She asked about my mother's daily habits, what she likes to talk about, whether she's an early riser. The matching felt considered rather than arbitrary. After four months, my mother still mentions the companion's visits as something she looks forward to each week."

"Our arrangement has been running for about six months. The task list system works well — my wife and I know exactly what will happen each week and there are no surprises. Wei Liang is easy to reach and responds quickly. The quarterly review last month helped us simplify a few things we'd overcomplicated at the start."

Home Comfort Setup + Daytime Companionship

"We started with the home setup assessment because my mother-in-law had just moved in. That went so smoothly that we asked about the companionship programme as well. Having both was helpful — the companion now knows where everything is in the rearranged house. The end-of-day notes give me real peace of mind when I'm in the office."

How Three Families Found a Workable Arrangement

Case Study 01 · Daytime Companionship

A Retired Civil Servant in George Town, Alone on Weekdays

The Situation

A 74-year-old retired headmistress whose two adult children both worked full-time. She was physically independent but spent five days a week at home without regular company. Her children noticed she had become quieter at family dinners.

The Arrangement

Three daytime sessions per week with a companion who also has a teaching background. Activities include reading together, working through crosswords, and preparing lunch. End-of-day notes go to the daughter's phone each evening.

After Five Months

The family reports noticeably more energy and engagement at weekend gatherings. The arrangement has continued without interruption. The daughter extended from three to four visits per week after the first quarterly review.

"She actually asked us once when her 'friend' was coming next. That word meant a lot to us." — Daughter of the client

Preparing for an 81-Year-Old Moving In

The Situation

A family in Batu Ferringhi was preparing for an elderly grandfather to move in from Ipoh. The house had three levels and was not arranged with an older resident in mind — narrow corridors, low lighting, and a bathroom with a high step.

The Arrangement

An on-site assessment was conducted two weeks before the move. Selvam produced a room-by-room plan focusing on the bedroom, bathroom, and main corridor. The recommended item list included twelve items totalling under RM 800.

Outcome

The grandfather settled in without the adjustment difficulties the family had feared. At the one-month follow-up, all key changes had been implemented and the family added two further items from the optional list. No falls occurred in the first three months.

"We'd been anxious about the move for months. Having the written plan made us feel we'd actually prepared properly." — Son-in-law
